q       3-4 minutes in length total

q       Effective and involved group participation

q       Interviews take place at three distinct locations (or more)

q       Two-page learning analysis

q       Editing

q       Audio mixing

 

Aesthetic Parameters

q       Conflict/issue is clear and examined in depth

q       Video makes a singular statement/offers a discernible perspective about the issue at hand (goes beyond “neutral” or “objective” reporting)

q       Metaphoric counterpoint footage adds meaning to the video (beyond simple illustration) and develops through a beginning, middle and end

q       Shot without microphone or interviewer in frame

q       Every technical aspect of image and sound contributes to meaning of video

q       Video makes us think about chosen issue in a fresh, new way
